Transport and Main Roads (TMR) manages Diving Licensing is Queensland and is also a significant identity provider to Queenslanders. The Queensland Digital Identity is the first step in creating a Queensland Digital Licence and is also being launched as a stand alone product.
As the in-house UX/UI Service designer on the Digitial Licence team I am responsible for the design of new features and functions.

Background
Before the Digital Licence app was created a digital identity was needed that met the stringent requirements of the international standard. The Queensland Digital Identity needed to be secure, trusted and easy to use for a somewhat labour intensive process. Multiple rounds of user research, problem analysis and journey making were undertaken add to the continuous improvement of the product.
Outcome
The Queensland Digital Identity has been adopted as the Queensland identity provider across an expanding list of government services.
